Product Information

Here you can find information about the essential oils, natural preservative, and the emulsifier found in ElskaBody products.

Essential Oils and Fragrance Oils

I do use a limited amount of fragrance oils in some of the products, but it is clear whether you are choosing an essential oil or fragrance oil for your order. Essential oils come with a variety of therapeutic properties which you can find summarized below. The few fragrance oils that I use are phthalate free and safe for bath and body. Please note that the citrus oils, including lemon, lime, sweet orange, and grapefruit, can make your skin sensitive to the sun and as such, should not be used before exposing your skin to direct sunlight. Hence, if you love those scents, use those lotions in the evenings during the summer, or all through the winter months when we tend to bundle up!

Preservative Used in ElskaBody Lotions

Most of ElskaBody products are completely preservative free. However, to protect the water based lotions from spoiling within a couple of weeks from production, a preservative is needed. I looked at many, many options and settled on Leucidal Liquid. I feel comfortable with this natural preservative.

You will find it listed as Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate on the ingredients list for the body lotions, hand lotions, foot lotion, and the soothing lotions.

If you want too read more about this naturally derived preservative you can find information here:
